Heinrich Voss (politician)

Heinrich Voss , also Voss (born January 20, 1909 in vestibule ; † March 22, 1982 in Metzingen ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school, Voss completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith, which he finished with a journeyman's examination. He then worked as a locksmith in Werdohl . He was active in the Protestant labor movement from 1924 to 1932, joined the trade union and from 1932 to 1936 received training as a professional worker for the Inner Mission in Wuppertal-Barmen . From 1936 to 1947 he was an employee of the Inner Mission of the Evangelical Church in Austria , first as the director of the Graz orphanage , from 1941 to 1945 as the head of the personnel office and then as the economic officer of the Inner Mission. In 1942 he passed his Abitur as an external student. In 1947 he was expelled from Austria by the Soviet military command.

Voss, who returned to Germany, headed the Protestant children's home Friedrich-Wilhelm-Stift in Hamm from October 1947 . He was again active in the Protestant labor movement, became deputy chairman of the working group of Christian workers' organizations in Westphalia and joined the DGB .

During the Weimar Republic , Voss was a member of the CSVD . In 1947 he joined the CDU.

Voss had been a councilor for the city of Hamm since 1948 and was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there in 1952. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. He was drawn into parliament via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia .
