Heinrich von Loesch (journalist)
Heinrich von Loesch ( Heinrich Johann Burkhart von Loesch ; born February 19, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German business journalist .
Life
Loesch in comes from Silesia been resident and the Prussian 1863 peerage collected family Loesch . He is the son of the ethnologist, university professor and author Karl Christian von Loesch (1880–1951) and his second wife Maria Fürst (1894–1991).
In ARD radio and television, Loesch began specializing in Middle East reporting from Cairo from 1955 (1955/56, 1960). In 1963 he received his doctorate as an economist at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich on the population and agriculture of Egypt . 1961/62 he was feature - an editor at Radio Bremen . 1963-69 he reported mainly from the Mediterranean region for radio and newspapers.
From 1970 to 1990 Loesch worked in the information department of the UN food and agriculture organization FAO in Rome . At the same time, he continued to report regularly for radio on international issues and in 1974 published the demographic study Standing room for billions? at the Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt .
From 1991 to 1997 Loesch was a consultant to the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) at the World Bank in Washington, DC and editor of the magazine CGIAR News . Since 2000 he has been editing the multilingual online magazine german.pages.de - Deutsche Rundschau .
Loesch is Dr. oec. publ. and graduate economist .
