Sydals Kommune (German: Kommune Südalsen ) was a municipality in the Sønderjyllands Amt ( North Schleswig ) in southwest Denmark . It included the four southern municipalities on the island of Als , namely Hørup Sogn , Kegnæs Sogn , Lysabild Sogn and Tandslet Sogn . The municipality was established in this form in 1970. On January 1, 2007, it merged with the municipalities of Augustenborg , Broager , Gråsten , Nordborg , Sundeved and Sønderborg in the new municipality of Sønderborg with over 70,000 inhabitants.
