Aabenraa Kommune (German: Kommune Apenrade ) was a municipality in Sønderjyllands Amt , Denmark . It was formed in 1970 by merging the city of Aabenraa with the Landkirchspiele Løjt (German: Loit ), Ensted (German: Enstedt ) and a small part of Rises (German: Ries ). In 2007 four neighboring municipalities joined the new Aabenraa municipality .
