Gram Kommune (German Gramm ) was a municipality in Sønderjyllands Amt ( North Schleswig ) in southwest Denmark . It was created in 1970 by merging the three communities Fole (German: Fohl ), Gram (German: Gramm ) and Højrup (German: Hoirup ). On January 1, 2007 it merged with the two eastern neighboring communes Vojens and Haderslev (German: Hadersleben ) and the communities Bevtoft , Hjerndrup , Bjerning and Fjelstrup in the new large commune Haderslev, which has 60,000 inhabitants . In the local elections in November 2005, the previous (and last) Grammer Mayor, Hans Peter Geil, was elected as the new unit's first head of administration.

In the town of Gram, which gave the former commune its name, there is a natural history museum as well as Gram Castle , a castle from the 16th century, on the northern exit of the town . The castle itself is not open to visitors (except on special occasions), but the park with the castle lake is open to the public all year round.

Also worth seeing is the Gram Kirke from the early 13th century. The bell tower of the church was added in the 15th century, the older of the two church bells in it dates from 1512.
