Nordborg Kommune (German: Kommune Norburg ) was a municipality in Sønderjyllands Amt ( North Schleswig ) in southwest Denmark . It took just under the northern half of the island of Als (German: Alsen ) and since 1970 consisted of the parish communities ( Danish : Sogn ) Egen (German: Eken ), Havnbjerg (German: Hagenberg ), Oksbøl (German: Oxbüll ), Svenstrup (German: Schwenstrup ) and Nordborg (German: Norburg ), which until 1970 consisted of the Fleckensgemeinde of the same name and the rural communities of Pøl and Holm. At the end of 2006, the Nordborg municipality was dissolved and together with the municipalities Augustenborg (German: Augustenburg ), Broager (German: Broacker ), Gråsten (German: Gravenstein ), Sønderborg (German: Sonderburg ), Sundeved (German: Sundewitt ) and Sydals ( German: Südalsen ) merged to form the new large municipality of Sønderborg .
