Nørre-Rangstrup Kommune (German: Norderrangstrup ) was a municipality in the Sønderjyllands Amt ( North Schleswig ) in southwest Denmark . The area-sized and sparsely populated municipality was located on the Schleswig Geest . Your name does not refer to a central location, but to a harde of the same name that existed until 1867 . Since 1970 it consisted of the parishes ( Danish : Sogn ) Agerskov Sogn , Bevtoft Sogn , Branderup Sogn , Tirslund Sogn and Toftlund Sogn , which had previously formed the Harde Nørre Rangstrup Herred in Haderslev Amt , and the parish Arrild Sogn from Harde Hviding Herred in the former Tønder office .

To the surprise of many, the municipal council decided in the course of the structural reform that Nørre-Rangstrup should in future belong to a large municipality with a center in Tønder , to which the previous municipalities of Bredebro , Højer , Løgumkloster , Skærbæk and Tønder have also belonged since January 1, 2007 and which the name also belongs to Tønder Municipality receives. The municipality of Bevtoft Sogn did not go along with it, however, and has joined the new large municipality of Haderslev , as both the historical connections are closer and the distances to Haderslev are shorter from there.
