Heinrichsbrunn (Mauth)

Heinrichsbrunn is a district of the municipality of Mauth in the Freyung-Grafenau district .

geography

It is located in the middle of the Bavarian Forest , the largest contiguous forest region in Europe, with the Bavarian Forest National Park in Germany and the Šumava Biosphere Reserve in the Czech Republic . Heinrichsbrunn is located in the eastern part of the Bavarian Forest, 50 km north of Passau and 15 km north of Freyung in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park and on the edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park. The distance to Bohemia is only a few kilometers. The village lies at an altitude of 960  m above sea level. NN and has about 300 inhabitants.

history

The place was founded in 1703 with originally 12 properties by Prince Bishop Johann Philipp von Lamberg along the upper Goldener Steiges . The chapel on the Schoberberg was built before 1840. On January 1, 1900, Heinrichsbrunn came to the newly established community of Finsterau and when it was incorporated into the community of Mauth in the course of the 1978 regional reform .
