Heinz-Günter Kraus

Heinz-Günter Kraus (* 1945 in Aue ) is a German physicist and politician ( CDU ).

Live and act

Kraus studied physics at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and graduated with a diploma. He then worked as a research engineer in materials development at VEB Halbzeugwerk Auerhammer .

From June 1, 1990 to July 31, 1994 he was district administrator in the Saxon district of Aue in the Ore Mountains . From March 22nd to October 24th, 1991 Kraus was part of the Saxon District Association. V. as president. After the districts of Aue and Schwarzenberg were merged into the Aue-Schwarzenberg district as a result of the district reform of 1994 , the previous Schwarzenberg district administrator Karl Matko was elected district administrator.

After leaving his political office, Kraus took on various tasks in municipal administration, including in a housing company, the savings bank insurance and in the crisis team for flood damage removal after the flood of the century in 2002 . Kraus has been involved in regional projects such as Bildungsreise Erzgebirge, since 2003 as regional manager of the “Echt Erzgebirge” initiative and on the board of “ Montanregion Erzgebirge e. V. “and as chairman of the board of RADIZ Schlema e. V. active. In 2009 he took part as a project manager in dealing with the peaceful revolution of 1989/90 in the Aue-Schwarzenberg district. The result was the book Let's serve you for the good , the title of which quotes part of the GDR national anthem, Resurrected from Ruins .

Kraus is married and has two grown children.
