Heinz Abels

Heinz Abels (born April 2, 1943 in Wickrath ) is a German sociologist and professor emeritus at the Open University in Hagen .

Life

Abels studied at the University of Cologne , the University of Bonn and the Ruhr University Bochum , where he received his PhD in 1970. rer.soc received his doctorate . A second doctorate to Dr. paed. took place in 1972 at the Ruhr University of Education . This was followed by a one-year research fellowship at the University of California at Berkeley . After teaching at the University of Essen for three years , Abels became Professor of Sociology at the Hagen Open University in 1978 . He has been an emeritus since August 1, 2008.
