Heinz Böttrich

Heinz Böttrich (born June 10, 1925 in Chemnitz ; † April 14, 2009 there ) was a German physician and politician ( CDU ). From 1990 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament for two electoral terms . Heinz Böttrich was the brother of Hans-Joachim Böttrich .

Life

Böttrich attended elementary school and then upper secondary school , which he finished with a high school diploma. He then completed the Reich Labor Service for three months and served in the Wehrmacht for two years . In 1945 he began studying human medicine at the University of Jena and passed the state examination in Greifswald in 1951 . The doctorate followed a year later. After receiving his full license , he began training as an ENT doctor and opened a medical practice in 1957.

After the end of the Second World War, Böttrich was a founding member of the CDU in Chemnitz and later publicly criticized the bloc parties . He served as both a city council and a district councilor for health care and, as such, helped other people to gain admission to study.

After reunification he was a candidate for the CDU in the election for the first state parliament in Saxony in 1990 and was elected as a direct candidate for parliament in constituency 59 (Chemnitz 1). In the state election in 1994 he was able to move into parliament again. In both electoral terms he was the senior president of the Saxon state parliament and headed its constitution .

He was a member of the State Medical Association of Saxony .

Honors

On June 2, 1995 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit (Great Cross of Merit) by Federal President Roman Herzog . On November 2nd, 2000 he was awarded the Saxon Order of Merit by Prime Minister Kurt Biedenkopf .
