Heinz Dürrbeck

Heinz Dürrbeck (born June 20, 1912 in Stuttgart-Cannstatt ; † November 21, 2001 in Budapest ) was a trade unionist and from 1954 to 1977 a managing director of IG Metall .

Life

Heinz Dürrbeck grew up in Hanover-Linden in a working-class district. After an apprenticeship, he then completed a degree in electrical engineering . After working in an AEG engineering office in Hanover , he managed to advance his career at AEG in Braunschweig . After 1945 he was involved in the works council and in IG Metall. He joined the main board of IG Metall in 1954 and was responsible for employee work and, from 1962 to 1972, also for trade union education. Under his responsibility z. His sister-in-law was the resistance fighter and member of the KPD state parliament, Herta Dürrbeck .
