Heinz Findewirth

Heinz Findewirth (born June 8, 1928 - October 18, 2016 ) was a German politician ( SED ). He was deputy chairman of the council for the Karl-Marx-Stadt district and most recently a member of the council for local utilities.

Life

The trained bank employee qualified as a graduate economist. He joined the SED and the FDGB , was chairman of the FDGB district executive in Chemnitz in 1953 and secretary for economics in the SED district leadership in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1954. From 1958 to 1961 Findewirth was deputy mayor of Karl-Marx-Stadt, then plant manager of the VEB circular and flat knitting machine construction in Karl-Marx-Stadt. From 1963 to 1976 he was deputy chairman of the Karl-Marx-Stadt District Economic Council for planning and economics. As the successor to Agnes Steinke, he became a member of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district council for local utilities in November 1976, and rose in October 1980 to succeed Herbert Zschunke as deputy chairman of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district council for industry and district local supply economy (ÖVW) and was last only a simple member of the council of the district for ÖVW. He remained in office until the dissolution of the district council and then retired in Chemnitz .

Findewirth was a member of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district assembly and from February 1981 to December 1989 a member of the SED district leadership in Karl-Marx-Stadt. After the reunification in the GDR he was a member of the Society for the Protection of Citizenship and Human Dignity (GBM). Findewirth died at the age of 88.
