Heinz Hoffmann (born January 4, 1930 in Rückers , Glatz district , Lower Silesia province ; † September 21, 2013 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Hoffmann began an apprenticeship as a carpenter and worked in this profession until 1956. Then he was youth secretary at the DGB until 1959 . From 1960 he was managing director of the ÖTV trade union in Verden (Aller) . In 1963 he became executive chairman of the DGB district Hameln-Rinteln, and in March 1970 deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Oberweser. He was also chairman of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Hameln GmbH and chairman of the board of the general local health insurance fund in Hameln / Pyrmont.

Public offices

Hoffmann was elected councilor of the city of Hameln between 1964 and 1973 and again since 1976, where he was chairman of the SPD council faction. Since 1973 he was a member of the district council in the Hameln-Pyrmont district . In the seventh to eleventh electoral terms he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament , to which he belonged from June 21, 1970 to June 20, 1990.
