Heinz Hohoff (born December 8, 1910 in Gelsenkirchen , † January 30, 1943 in Stalingrad ) was a German functionary of the Hitler Youth and Politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending the Realgymnasium in Essen and the state educational institute Lichterfelde, Heinz Hohoff passed his Abitur in Königs Wusterhausen in 1928 . As a senior second he joined the SA in 1928 . He joined the NSDAP on February 1, 1930 ( membership number 192.982). In the following years he devoted himself to building up the Hitler Youth (HJ) in the Ostprignitz district in the rank of follower leader . In 1932 he became a regional speaker in the Brandenburg region and head of regional training for the Hitler Youth in Brandenburg. In 1933 he began studying in Berlin. In October 1933 he was appointed leader of the Oberbannes Brandenburg-Nord as Bannführer and in 1935 leader of the young people in the HJ area Kurmark. In addition, he was active as a Reich speaker for the Reich Propaganda Administration .

After his appointment to the Reich Youth Leadership, Hohoff was appointed personal adjutant of the Hitler Youth Staff Leader , Hartmann Lauterbacher , in March 1936 . In 1936 he became deputy leader and on March 1, 1937 provisional leader of the HJ area 11 Middle Rhine. On April 20, 1938 he was confirmed as HJ area leader. From February 1939 to October 1940 he acted as leader of the HJ area Vienna and from January 1940 as area inspector of the Reich Youth Leadership, responsible for the HJ areas Cologne-Aachen, Westmark, Hessen-Nassau and Vienna.

From April 1938 until his death, Hohoff also sat as a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen) .

In May 1940 Hohoff became a soldier and took part in World War II . From 1942 he was again the regular leader of the HJ area Cologne-Aachen. He was promoted to HJ Obergebietsführer in April 1943. When he was again deployed in the war, he died in January 1943 in the Battle of Stalingrad .
