Karl-Heinrich Jergens , called Heinz , (born January 24, 1923 , † August 6, 2007 ) was a German football player .

Life

It is known from Jergens' childhood that he was friends with his future team-mate Ernst Liebrich . Later Jergens, Liebrich and Werner Baßler were also apprentices at the sewing machine manufacturer Pfaff .

As a teenager, Jergens joined the FCK. After he came to the first team in 1940, he was 1941/42 with the FCK champion in the Gauliga Westmark . At that time , three of the five future Lauterer world champions from 1954 were already playing in the team with Werner Kohlmeyer and Fritz and Ottmar Walter . In the following DM final round , the first ever for the club, they were eliminated in the second game (round of 16) against FC Schalke 04 . Jergens played both games. In the following years Jergens was still in the team, but he was drafted into the Wehrmacht. He was taken prisoner by the Soviets, from which he did not return until 1949. Back at home, he rejoined the FCK, which was now playing in the Oberliga Südwest. For the 1950/51 season he was again part of the regular staff of the team that prevailed in the final round of the German championship and was German champion with a 2-1 in the final against Prussia Münster . Heinz Jergens was also in the starting line-up in the final. In 1951 he and the FCK team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .

In 1952 Jergens moved to VfR Kaiserslautern , with whom he played in the major league until 1955. At Pfaff, he rose to the position of manager in sales.
