Heinz Knüwe

Heinz Knüwe (born January 16, 1956 in Wadersloh ) is a former German football player and coach .

Stations as a player

Heinz Knüwe's home club was SV Westfalen Liesborn 21 , where he played in the youth field from 1964 to 1974. From 1972 to 1974 he played in the A-Jugend Westfalenliga at VfL Geseke . In the 1974/1975 season he was in the squad of TSV 1860 Munich , which was playing in the 2nd Bundesliga at the time. In 1975/1976 he played in the national league for Borussia Lippstadt . This was followed by 59 appearances and six goals in the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Herford from 1976 to 1978 . With this club he spent the 1978/1979 football league season after relegation . In 1979, however, he managed to move to the 1st Bundesliga at VfL Bochum , where he played first-class until 1986. Here he scored seven goals in 197 missions. In the 1986/1987 season he moved to the second division Hannover 96 , came to 33 missions and scored one goal. Hannover 96 rose and so he came in the 1987/1988 season to 13 appearances in the first division. He played his last active time from 1988 to 1990 with the league club SC Verl , where he had also worked as a player- coach since 1989 .

From 1989 to 1990 he was a player-coach at the top division club SC Verl . After all, he worked from 1990 to 1992 as a coach at the top division club SpVg Beckum . From 1996 he worked as a coach at a private youth soccer school in East Westphalia-Lippe . From 1997 to 1999 he coached SV Lippstadt 08 for the first time in the major league.

From 2000 to March 2001 he had an engagement with the first division club 1. SC Göttingen 05 . From 2001 to 2003 he was the sporting director of VfL Bochum in the first and second leagues. Since the beginning of 2006 he was back as a coach of SV Lippstadt 08 , saved it from relegation and played with this club for promotion in the 2006/2007 season.

On March 20, 2007 he canceled his contract with SV Lippstadt, according to a report in the Lippstadt daily Der Patriot . The club was top of the league at that time.

Positions as a sports director and manager

On May 8, 2007 Knüwe took over the position of sporting director of the regional league team Sportfreunde Siegen . He gave up this post on May 16, 2008 and terminated the employment without notice. As a reason, he stated that he was not informed by the club management about the leave of absence of the coach Marc Fascher and the installation of the assistant coach as interim coach. Knüwe indicated that the association had violated his employment contract. From April 9th ​​to June 8th, 2013 he took over provisional board duties at VfL Bochum after the club in the 2nd Bundesliga dismissed both the coach and the sports director in acute desperation. For the 2015/16 season he became head of sport at SV Lippstadt 08. On October 1, 2015, the termination of the current contractual relationship was announced.
