Heinz Krieb

Heinz Krieb (born December 13, 1956 ) is a Brigadier General of the Army of the German Armed Forces and has been Director of the Concepts and Capabilities Directorate in the European Union's military staff since August 1, 2014 .

Military career

Krieb joined the Bundeswehr in 1975 as a conscript and completed his training as an officer in the armored force . He studied educational science at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich, and graduated in 1981 with a degree in education . Employment as platoon leader and company commander in the armored force followed. From 1988 to 1990 he took part in the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. From October 1990 to November 1993 he was employed as a staff officer in G3 operations management and later G4 logistics in Panzerbrigade 14 in Neustadt in Hesse . From November 1993 to November 1996 Krieb was staff officer G3 in the planning department at NATO's Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum . From November 1996, Krieb led the 413 tank battalion in Torgelow as commander. From November 1998 to April 2002 he was employed as deputy head of the FueZBw LF / Fue SV 1 NATO, EU and UN se in the Federal Ministry of Defense . After being promoted to colonel in April 2002, Krieb was G3 of the Multinational Division Central in Rheindahlen and from November 2002 to September 2004 G3 at the Army Office in Cologne. This was followed by assignments as head of department (December 2004 to January 2007) and deputy head of department in the Armed Forces Management Department V (Bundeswehr deployment) in the command staff of the armed forces in Bonn. From June 2008 to April 2009, Krieb took part in the Senior Course at the NATO Defense College in Rome . From April 2009 to November 2012 he was employed as head of Fue S / Z and head of the Central Tasks department at the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr . From November 2012 to August 2014, Krieb was Head of the EU Military Policy Department of the German military representation at the NATO and EU Military Committee in Brussels .
