Heinz Lettl (born January 14, 1933 ) is a former German soccer player .

Player career

societies

Lettl was one of the first young players to join the Bayern Munich squad after 1945; from 1950 to 1958 he wore the club's jersey. In his first season he only played one friendly game in which he scored one goal. On April 6, 1952 (29th matchday) he made his debut in the Oberliga Süd , the highest German division at the time, in the 3: 5 defeat in the away game against VfR Mannheim in which he scored the 2: 4 in the 70th minute succeeded. The agile, nimble technician developed over the years into a real playmaker who was also dangerous for goals. After his first two season games, he played in the following three seasons with 21 and twice 22 point games with 13, four and eleven goals, most of them in his senior league time. It is therefore not surprising that it found its way into Sepp Herberger's famous notebook . Due to the poor performance of his team, he also accompanied them to the 2nd Oberliga Süd , in which he participated in ten point games, scored five goals and returned to the first division for the 1956/57 season. In his last two seasons he played eight and 13 point games, in which he scored two and seven goals.

In the summer of 1958 he moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers , for which he played in the seasons 1958/59 (2. Oberliga Süd) and 1959/60 (Oberliga Süd). During this time he played 44 point games in which he scored 31 goals. Heinz Lettl then ended his career as an active footballer in Switzerland. In 1960/61 he played for FC Chiasso and - after the latter had to be relegated - in 1961/62 and 1962/63 for FC Lucerne in the National League A , the top division in Switzerland at the time.

National team

Lettl played his only international match for the DFB on March 24, 1954 in Gelsenkirchen . With players like Heinrich Kwiatkowski , Herbert Erhardt , Gerd Harpers and Richard Kreß, he was defeated with the B national team of England with 0: 4; he was not appointed to the squad for the 1954 World Cup .

Coaching career

In the fall of 1960, Lettl had already worked as a player-coach at FC Chiasso for a few months . From the summer of 1963 he was again the club's coach until June 1969. In the 1973/74 season he trained the amateurs of FC Bayern Munich , who had been promoted from the regional league to the 1st Bavarian Amateur League and were able to hold the class as 13th of 18 clubs.
