Heinz Nicklich (born August 11, 1927 ) is a former German football player who was active in the 1950s for Rotation / Einheit Dresden in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football .

Athletic career

As the fourth youngest player in the SG Dresden-Mickten team , Nicklich played on April 10, 1950 in the decisive game for the Saxon football championship against SG Lauter . In Mickten's 3-1 win, Nicklich was used as a half-right striker. Nicklich had previously won the cup with SG Mickten in 1949. As a master of Saxony, the Dresdeners took part in the promotion games to the GDR Oberliga. During the promotion round, the SG Mickten was integrated into the company sports community (BSG) Sachsenverlag Dresden. In the promotion games, the Dresdeners achieved four wins, three draws and lost one game. Nicklich scored five of the 21 goals scored and thus helped decisively to 1st place in the promotion round, which secured the Dresden team participation in the 1950/51 league season.

At the beginning of the league season 1950/51, BSG Sachsenverlag changed its name to BSG Rotation. Nicklich was in the league team from the first day of the match and missed only one point game during the entire season. In his 33 missions, in which he played variably in all attacking positions, he scored 24 goals, was the top goalscorer of his team and landed fourth on the Oberliga scorers list. In August 1951 Nicklich played several games with the GDR student selection at the “ World Festival of Youth and Students ”. In 1951/52 he was used in the first 20 league games without interruption, after which he had several dropouts, so that at the end of the season he had only completed 27 matches out of 36 league games and was only the third best scorer in the BSG rotation with nine goals. After Nicklich was seriously injured in the 1952/53 season and could only play six league games, he came back to the league team from the ninth matchday in 1953/54 and was able to play 17 of the 28 point games. During the 1954/55 season, the newly founded SC Einheit Dresden took over the football section of the BSG rotation. Again Nicklich had several failures and was only used in 17 of the 26 league games. For the first time in his senior league career, he played mainly in midfield and therefore only scored three goals. In the seasons 1956 and 1957 (calendar season) he played only two or twelve league games due to injury. His last league game he completed at the age of 30 on the 14th match day of the 1957 season in the encounter Lok Stendal - SC unit (0: 1), in which he was once again as a center forward in the team. It was his 114th league championship game, and he scored 45 goals during that time.
