career

Oelze's football career began at the age of eight with the tractor company sports club in the then district town of Wolmirstedt, north of Magdeburg. After he later switched to the BSG unit Wolmirstedt and completed an apprenticeship as a gas fitter, he was delegated in 1967 as a young talented striker to the football focus of the region, 1. FC Magdeburg . There he was first used in the 2nd team that played in the third-class district league Magdeburg . With her he made it into the GDR league in 1969 . For the first team he played his first competitive game in the cup encounter at Vorwärts Neubrandenburg (6-0 win) on November 16, 1968. In the first game of the second half of the 1968/69 season on February 15, 1969 he came in the game FC Karl -Marx-Stadt - 1. FC Magdeburg (3-0) for his first league appearance and played as a right winger. The season ended with eight appearances in the top division. At the same time, with 25 goals, he was the top scorer of the 2nd team and helped it significantly to advance to the second-rate GDR league. On the other hand, he missed the victorious GDR Cup final of 1969 because he was not called up in this game.

In the season 1969/70 Oelze belonged with 20 league point games to the regular line-up of the 1st team, which achieved a disappointing result with 8th place in the championship. 1970/71 Oelze was the only player who had been used in all league games in the league team. However, his team remained without a title this year. The Magdeburg team won it a year later when they finished the 1971/72 season as East German champions for the first time. Oelze was, however, involved in the success with only four point games. In November 1971 Oelze was drafted into the military and played for the GDR league club Nord Torgelow in the following year and a half . He missed winning the FCM Cup in 1973 and the victorious European Cup final in 1974. After his return, Oelze only played in the second team of the FCM from November 1974, so he was not involved in the 1974 championship.

After Oelze was used again in nine league games in the 1974/75 season , he played in 1975/76 for the last time in the FCM's league team. He played two more point games, the last in the encounter Chemie Leipzig - 1. FC Magdeburg (0: 1) on October 18, 1975. Within seven years, Oelze was in the first team of the FCM in 69 point games, 13 national and 4 European cup games used. During this time he also played five games in the GDR junior national team. With the 2nd team Oelze was top scorer in the GDR League Season C in the 1975/76 season, helping her to 2nd place. Then this team was disbanded in favor of a senior league youth team. Heinz Oelze then moved to GDR league club Stahl Blankenburg , where he mostly helped the team get good placements until 1983. During his active time, Oelze obtained the sports teacher diploma.

After his active time he was the youth coach of the Blankenburger FV.
