Erich Günter Heinz Pachen (born December 8, 1922 in Spremberg ; † February 5, 2006 ) was a German art collector.

Heinz Pachen was a chemical technician and worked in the research laboratory of the Römmler company in Spremberg until he began his military service in 1940. After his return from captivity, he became head of department in the small laboratory of the Spremberg gas works. He was dismissed because of a "violation of the anti-fascist-democratic order". The already enthusiastic art collector organized exhibitions with his wife Hella (Helene Maria Hardies, born March 29, 1928 in Leobschütz / Silesia ; † October 23, 2007), whom he married in 1949, and became honorary museum director in Spremberg. In 1954 Heinz Pachen and his wife left the GDR. In 1956 they came to Mainz via the refugee reception center in Gießen , where they built up a new existence and further expanded their art collection. In 1964 they bought a house in Ruppertsecken (Palatinate). In September 1997 their collection became the “Museum Pachen - German Art of the 20th Century” in neighboring Rockenhausen .

In 1997 he and his wife received the Max Slevogt Medal of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, and in 2001, together with his wife, the Order of Merit of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .
