Heinz Pauck

Heinz Pauck (born March 18, 1904 in Bielefeld , † July 28, 1986 in Reinbek ) was a German screenwriter .

Life

He studied German and theater studies at the universities of Berlin, Munich and Göttingen from 1924 to 1927 . From 1927 he worked as a journalist in Berlin. Until 1936 he wrote primarily theater reviews as a feature editor, then he became dramaturge at Europafilm and in 1938 at Tobis , for which he also provided his first scripts. He spent 1939 to 1945 in war and captivity.

In 1945 he settled in Hamburg and worked there as a theater critic and employee at the NWDR . From 1947 to 1953 he was also dramaturge at the production company NDF in Munich, in 1954 he became chief dramaturge at Capitol-Film.

Pauck gained a reputation as a renowned screenwriter in the 1950s. As one of the few authors of the Adenauer era, he occasionally interwoven witty and humorous allusions to the present in productions like Die Zürcher Verlobung and Das Wirtshaus im Spessart . The directors of these films were particularly Kurt Hoffmann and Helmut Käutner .

Since the mid-1960s, Pauck only worked for television. In 1984 he received the gold film tape for many years of outstanding work in German film.
