Heinz Scheidhauer

Heinz Scheidhauer (born August 16, 1912 ; † October 18, 2006 ) was a test pilot at Horten in the 1940s and held the rank of captain during the Nazi era . He was also one of the glider pilots in the attack on the Belgian Fort Eben-Emael . After the Second World War he followed Reimar Horten to South America. On October 30, 1955, he was the first person to fly over the Andes in a Horten H XVc in a glider . He later returned to Germany and was closely associated with gliding for many years . He died on October 18, 2006 in Bad Krozingen .
