Heinz Stroh (doctor)

Heinz Stroh (born March 6, 1918 in Mainz , † June 6, 1973 in Bischofsheim ) was a German physician and medical professional politician.

Life

Stroh completed an apprenticeship as a druggist and, interrupted several times by the Second World War, studied medicine in Mainz and obtained a doctorate in medicine. med. From 1949 to 1973 he worked as a general practitioner and obstetrician in Bischofsheim.

Volunteering

Stroh was involved in various voluntary work:

  • 1956 to 1973 member of the Presidium of the State Medical Association of Hesse
  • 1964 to 1968 Vice President of the State Medical Association of Hesse
  • 1968 to 1973 President of the State Medical Association of Hesse
  • 1968 to 1973 member of the board of the German Medical Association

He was particularly committed to advanced training. During his presidency on February 21, 1970, the decision was made to found the Academy for Medical Training and Education of the State Medical Association of Hesse in Bad Nauheim.

Furthermore, Stroh was a co-founder of the Association of Resident Non-Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, later NAV-Virchow-Bund and, for many years, the second national chairman.
