Heinz Toppmöller (born March 16, 1950 ) is a former German soccer player and current coach.

Career

player

Toppmöller has been in the squad of Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern for two seasons . The midfielder made his debut in the 1974/75 season . On the 20th matchday he ran for the first time in the game against SV Werder Bremen , the game was won 4-1. In total, he came to four appearances in the Bundesliga, in each of which his younger brother Klaus was on the field. Toppmöller was part of the professional squad, but was always used by the amateurs. With whom he played for the 1973 German amateur championship. The final was lost in Offenbach 1-0 against SpVgg Bad Homburg . He later played for FSV Salmrohr .

Trainer

After his active career, he took over the position on the sidelines. He was a coach at SV Leiwen and SV Morbach before becoming the coach of the Georgian U19 national team from February 2006.

Toppmöller had been coaching the Rhineland league team FSV Trier Tarforst since autumn 2011, the engagement ended at the end of the same year.

Private

His son Marco was also a professional soccer player for FCK.
