Marco Toppmöller (born January 16, 1978 in Trier ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .

Career

The 1.90 m tall striker played two games for 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga in the 2000/01 season .

The son of Heinz Toppmöller and nephew of Klaus Toppmöller played for SV Hetzerath in his youth . In 1995 he moved to FSV Salmrohr , then to Eintracht Trier and a year later to Alemannia Aachen . Toppmöller then played for VfL Osnabrück and Borussia Neunkirchen before switching to the “Red Devils”. In 2004 he joined the Luxembourg first division club CS Grevenmacher and then played for the Rhineland division SV Leiwen-Köwerich and Borussia Neunkirchen. In January 2007 he moved to the Saar association league for SC Halberg Brebach and then joined the Rhineland-Palatinate association league club SG Laufeld / Wallscheid / Niederöffingen for the 2007/08 season . One year he was signed by the Luxembourg second division club Victoria Rosport . For the 2009/10 season he returned to Germany and played for the Bavarian club SC Fürstenfeldbruck in the southern season of the regional league . In the 2010/11 season he occasionally played in the district league for SV Leiwen-Köwerich and ended his active career after the season.

From October 2010 to June 2015 Toppmöller worked as a junior coach for FC Bayern Munich and from November 2015 to June 2017 he coached the B-youth of Eintracht Trier . Since July 2017 he has been the coach of the 2nd team at SV Morlautern .
