Heinz Vosske

Heinz Voßke (born May 8, 1929 in Anklam ) is a German Marxist-Leninist archivist and historian .

Life

Vosske took part in the Second World War as a young soldier and was taken prisoner by the Soviets. After his release in 1949 he became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and in 1951 a teacher at the SED state party school in Mecklenburg. After studying at the party college "Karl Marx" , he worked at the Institute for Marxism-Leninism at the Central Committee of the SED .

Vosske most recently worked as senior archivist in the central party archive of the SED in Berlin and was awarded the academic title of Prof. Dr. In 1963 he took over the management of this archive, where he worked until it was dissolved in 1990.

He published several works on the history of the SED and some of its leading representatives.

His scientific legacy of two running meters with archival material from the period 1905 to 1995 is now managed in the Federal Archives.
