Heinz Zeise

Heinz Zeise (born March 12, 1926 in Berlin ; † July 27, 1976 in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin) was a German set designer and painter .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a color lithographer, Zeise began studying at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin-Charlottenburg in 1943 .

In 1944 he was called up for military service and was first taken prisoner by the English and later by the French . In 1947 he returned to Berlin, continued his studies with Karl Hofer and Heinrich Ehmsen and became his master student .

At the beginning of the 1950s he worked as a stage and production designer for DEFA (including The Story of Little Muck ) and from 1954 until his death for German television .

He lived with his wife Ursula Zeise and his son in Berlin-Johannisthal .
