Hans Müller (director)
Hans Müller (born April 19, 1909 in Lüdenscheid ; † February 17, 1977 there ) was a German director .
Life
Even as a schoolboy, Müller was interested in the then still relatively new medium of film. He often went to the cinema and was also interested in the projection room. Later he visited the Lette-Haus in Berlin with its training facilities for optics, film and photo technology.
Following a documentary about his hometown Lüdenscheid and recordings for the weekly newsreel , his first self-directed film Aufruhr der Herzen was released in 1944 with Lotte Koch , Rudolf Prack and OE Hasse in the leading roles. Were after the end of World War II, when the Berlin studios mostly destroyed, he turned with Käthe Haack , Paul Dahlke and Lutz Moik among others Burg Altena the film and find we one day meet again ... .
After the film studios were rebuilt in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, this followed, among other things, 1-2-3 Corona (1948) with Eva-Ingeborg Scholz , Hafenmelodie (1949) with Kirsten Heiberg , Das Mädchen aus der Südsee (1950) with Hardy Krüger and Ingeborg Hauff, Gift im Zoo (1951) with Carl Raddatz and Ernst Schröder , Lockende Sterne (1952) with Ilse Steppat , Rudolf Prack and Paul Dahlke, Carola Lamberti - Eine vom Zirkus (1954) with a comeback by Henny Porten . According to his own assessment, his greatest success was the film adaptation of the opera Zar und Zimmermann (1956), which was followed by another operetta film, Mazurka der Liebe (1957). With his last film, Triplets on Board with Heinz Erhardt , Müller celebrated yet another great success with the public.
From 1960, Müller turned to television. He filmed Münchhausen's adventures with Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff and directed the series Spedition Marcus and Die Kramer with Barbara Rütting as well as the crime series Butler Parker with Dirk Dautzenberg . In 1972/73 Müller filmed the eighth book of madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi in Italy under the musical direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt .
Loriot, who sat in at Hans Müller's studio, was inspired by his name and city of birth to create his comic figure "Herr Müller-Lüdenscheid".
Hans Müller died at the age of 67 and was buried in the cemetery of his hometown Lüdenscheid.
