Helen Westcott
Helen Westcott (born January 1, 1928 in Los Angeles , California as Myrthas Helen Hickman , † March 17, 1998 in Edmonds , Washington ) was an American actress.
life and career
Wescott was born the daughter of film actor Gordon Westcott . He died in a riding accident when she was seven years old. She began her acting career in the theater at the age of four; In 1934, she made her feature film debut in the western Thunder Over Texas . However, her breakthrough as an actor should only be achieved in adulthood. In 1948, Westcott starred opposite Errol Flynn in Don Juan's Love Adventures . A year later she got her first leading role in Alaska Patrol . However, she had the greatest success of her career in 1950 as a partner of Gregory Peck in the western The Sniper . After that she was almost only seen in supporting roles, for example in the 1952 film drama A Stranger is Calling , in which she played the wife of the main actor Gary Merrill . In later years Westcott appeared increasingly in television productions such as Perry Mason , Mike Hammer and Bonanza . Most recently she was in 1977 for a guest role in the television series Die Zwei with the shoot in front of the camera.
Westcott was married to the actor Don Gordon from 1948 to 1953 , from this marriage there is a daughter. A second marriage was in 1975 with Joseph Johnson-Smith, the marriage lasted until his death six years later. Helen Westcott died of cancer in 1998 at the age of 70.
