Helena Bergström
Helena Bergström (born February 5, 1964 in Kortedala , Gothenburg ) is a Swedish actress and director .
Life
Helena is the daughter of the director Hans Bergström and the actress Kerstin Widgren . She is married to the English director Colin Nutley , with whom she has two children and who recently made most of her films.
Helena Bergström's acting career, who preferred to work with animals as a child, began in 1982 when she appeared in the television series “Time Out”. A year later she played in the satirical comedy series "Vidöppet". Helena Bergström attended the Theater Academy ( Teaterhögskolan ) in Stockholm until 1988 and then worked at the Royal Dramatic Theater ( Dramaten ) and at the Stockholm City Theater .
Helena Bergström achieved greater fame in Sweden in 1989 through her roles in the films "1939" and "Kvinnorna på taket" (Women on the Roof). She also discovered Colin Nutley on a poster for the latter film, who hired her for the female lead in the film "Blackjack" (1990). In 1992, Helena Bergström played the role of Fanny on the side of Rikard Wolff in the film "Änglagård" ("Fannys Farm"). For this role, the readers of the Swedish daily Expressen voted her film personality of the year 1992.
For her starring roles in the films "Sista Dansen" and "Pariserhjulet" Helena Bergström was founded in 1993 with the Swedish Film Award Guldbagge as Best Actress Award.
On stage, Helena Bergström played roles in Luigi Pirandello's “Six People Are Looking for an Author”, in “Piaf” and in William Shakespeare's “ Hamlet ”.
In 2012 she hosted Melodifestivalen .
