Helene Meibohm (born December 21, 1893 in Hamburg ; † February 17, 1982 there ) was a German politician, trade unionist and member of the Hamburg citizenship for the SPD .

Live and act

Helene Meibohm worked from 1908 to 1914 in Hamburg's Bethanien Hospital and in private households. In 1915 she moved to newspaper companies in Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main as a commercial clerk . From 1921 to 1929 she worked in the dressing material industry and eventually became self-employed in this industry.

Since she also volunteered in the Central Association of Employees (ZDA) and was a member of the SPD, she got political difficulties after the seizure of power . Your company was closed. Helene Meibohm got to know the Hamburg remand prison from the inside and was unemployed after her imprisonment. In 1935 she got a job at the Bad Oldesloe employment office . Employment in various authorities followed.

From 1946 she worked for the Office for Housing in Hamburg. She resumed her trade union work for the successor union of the ZdA, the DAG . Within the SPD, she was committed to local political issues. From 1957 to 1966 she was a member of the Hamburg Parliament.

Helene Meibohm died in Hamburg in 1982.
