The Helfferich Glacier is a 13 km long glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Usarp Mountains, it drains the eastern slopes of the Pomerantz Tafelland south of the Armstrong Platform .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after the ionospheric physicist Merritt Randolph Helfferich (* 1935), who between 1967 and 1968 the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station .
