Helfried Moosbrugger

Helfried Moosbrugger (born January 3, 1944 in Graz , Austria ) is an Austrian psychologist. Until 2011 he was Professor of Research Methods and Evaluation in the Department of Psychology and Sports Science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

Life

Helfried Moosbrugger attended the Academic Gymnasium (Graz). From 1962 he studied psychology at the universities of Graz , Marburg and Innsbruck and graduated in 1969 with a doctorate. phil. from. From 1969 to 1971 he was a university assistant at the University of Innsbruck, then he worked as a research assistant at the German Institute for International Educational Research in Frankfurt am Main. From 1975 to 1977 he headed the department for applied statistics there. At the same time he held a chair at the University of Trier from 1973 to 1974 .

In 1975 he was offered an appointment at the University of Mainz and in 1977 he moved to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where he worked until 2011.

Moosbrugger is an elected city councilor in the parliament of the city of Kronberg im Taunus . He is on the board of the Kronberg Academy for Chamber Music .

Research achievements

Analysis methods for nonlinear effects in latent structural equation models; Evaluation of the direct selection of students by the university; Development and testing of self-assessment for applicants in psychology and computer science; Testing of the English version “FACT-2. Frankfurt Adaptive Concentration Test "; Updating and re-normalization of the Frankfurt attention inventory FAIR and psychometric recording of spirituality and mindfulness .

Helfried Moosbrugger held several visiting professorships abroad.
