Helga Jansen

Helga Jansen (born April 26, 1950 in Fallingbostel ; † February 11, 2010 in Bremen ) was a German social economist and politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Bremen citizenship .

biography

education and profession

Jansen grew up in Fallingbostel. After graduating from secondary school, she learned the profession of dental assistant from 1969 and worked in this profession until 1976. From 1975 to 1979 she studied at the University of Economics and Politics (HWP) in Hamburg and graduated as a social economist . From 1975 to 1982 she lived in Hamburg, since 1982 as a single mother and she was part of an unemployed project.

Jansen moved to Bremen at the end of 1982 and lived in the Huchting district . She worked in social work in the 1980s , since 1985 for an unemployment project. Since 1991 she has worked in social work for drug help at various institutions, most recently at comeback gmbh .

politics

Jansen was politically active at an early age, and around 1969 she and her brothers founded the local Young Socialist Working Group ( Jusos ) in Fallingbostel . In 1972 she joined the SPD and the ÖTV (today ver.di ).

After moving to the SPD in Bremen, she was active in various positions in the Huchting local association (including second chairwoman), the Bremen sub-district and the state party .

From 1987 to 1991 Jansen was a member of the social deputation in Bremen and from 1991 to 2003 a member of the Bremen citizenship . Here she was represented in the Deputation for Science, the Legal Committee, the Budget and Finance Committee, the Foreigners Committee, the Property Committee and the Legal Audit Committee. She strongly represented the interests of disabled children.

After the citizenship period, she remained an education deputy until 2007. From 2003 until her death, she was a local politician in the district council of Huchting.

Further commitment

In the local workers' welfare organization , she was the local chairman in Huchting and a member of the Bremen district board. She was co-initiator and co-founder of Aktive Menschen Bremen eV (AMeB) in October 2008.

She showed a long-term commitment to the Huchting district farm . In addition, she was co-founder with Roland Kutzki , member of the board and then chairwoman of the Citizens' and Social Center Huchting (BUS) founded in 1986 .

Honors

  • The Helga-Jansen-Haus , a meeting place of the AMeB in Huchting, got her name in 2012.
