Roland Kutzki

Roland Kutzki (born March 20, 1942 in Marienburg / West Prussia ) is a German architect and town planner.

biography

education and study

Kutzki is the son of an engineer and bicycle dealer. In 1945, after the expulsion from Marienburg in West Prussia and in 1948, after the family had fled Wildberg in Brandenburg, he grew up in Dorfhagen (near Hagen in Bremen) and since 1951 in Langen near Bremerhaven . He completed elementary school and then the Lessing School in Bremerhaven - Lehe , then did an apprenticeship as a concrete worker with H. F. Kistner in Bremerhaven.

From 1962 to 1966 he studied structural engineering (architecture) at the building and engineering school in Bremen . From 1963 to 1966 he was chairman of the Bremen Student Union , founded a student travel service in Bremen , looked after the StuBu jazz bar , which was still run by students at the time , coordinated a student work program (STAP) and in 1965 organized the first nationwide large-scale demonstration against the educational emergency in Bremen.

Professional activities

Architecture and planning in Bremen

After completing his studies, Kutzki worked for various architects until 1969, including Hermann Brede , where he supervised the new construction of the Syke youth hostel and planned the Ellener Brok community center in Osterholz . From 1969 to 1990 he worked for the then University Building Authority (UBA), since 1979 Building Department Bremen (HBA), and planned, among other things, the State and University Library Bremen from 1969 to 1974 . At times he was also a lecturer at the Bremen Administrative School and chairman of the staff council in his office.

Urban renewal in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

After the reunification of the GDR and the reunification of Germany , the state of Bremen sent him at the end of 1990 as an advisor to the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , which hired him at the end of 1991. From 1990 to 2004 he was head of the urban development , urban development and urban renewal department and was therefore responsible for the urban development, urban and framework planning, social city , urban monument protection and urban redevelopment programs in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of Interior and then Construction in Schwerin . From 1995 to 2004 he was chairman of the state redevelopment council for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. He also acted as a judge in over 30 urban planning and building competitions . In retirement, Kutzki returned to Bremen.

Kutzki is married and has a son who is a chemist.

Committee work and commitment

From 1966 onwards, Kutzki became politically active in the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the German Young Democrats (DJD). Here he was most recently state chairman of the DJD-Bremen. In 1971, when the FDP left the coalition in Senate Koschnick I because of its position on the development of the University of Bremen , he switched to the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). In the SPD he was active in various bodies, such as chairman and member of urban development committees and other committees, as well as board member in local associations and in the sub-district of Bremen-West.

From the 1970s to 1990/91 he was active as the deputy chairman of the Park links der Weser association, since 1986 as the founding chairman of the founding of the community and social center in Huchting (BUS), in the Huchting district council, as chairman of a culture shop (AKuF) , in the trade union and in the Bremen Chamber of Architects.

He has been working on a voluntary basis for Wikipedia since 2006 and has written around 2,400 new articles, as well as a similar number of article revisions, mainly in the areas of Bremen and Umzu , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the Soviet Union and the construction industry .
