Helga Lange (born December 23, 1949 in Steinfeld (Oldenburg) ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

Helga Lange grew up in the Oldenburger Münsterland as the daughter of a country doctor . She studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and the University of Bielefeld . This was followed by a professional activity as a teacher at a Waldorf school in Bielefeld .

Lange has lived in Halle (Westphalia) since 1978 . She is married and has three daughters.

In 1981 the local Green Association of the City of Halle (Westphalia) was founded in the living room of the Lange family. Since then, Helga Lange has been a member of the Green Party - from 1993 Alliance 90 / The Greens .

With the local elections in 1984 she became a councilor in Halle (Westphalia). She was a member of Hall's city ​​council for 30 years until the 2014 local elections and chaired the Green parliamentary group as spokesperson.
