Hella Hanzlik

Hella Hanzlik (born January 14, 1912 in Chernivtsi , † September 17, 2005 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). She was from 1956 to 1959 and from 1966 to 1973 member of the Federal Council and from 1962 to 1966 Member of the National Council .

Life

After primary school, Hanzlik attended community school and a commercial evening school before attending a one-year teaching course at the women's high school. She worked professionally until 1929 as an employee of a publishing house and a bookstore and then worked as a correspondent and accountant in the Association of Socialist Workers' Youth . Afterwards she was cashier in a fango sanatorium until 1938 and emigrated to Switzerland and Great Britain in 1938, where she worked as a housemaid, cook and most recently as a secretary in the Austrian Labor Club. In 1945 she returned to Austria and worked for the Vienna Chamber of Labor between 1945 and 1946. From 1946 to 1948 she was an employee of the parliamentary club of the SPÖ and from 1948 to 1972 she took on the role of regional women secretary of the SPÖ Vienna.

Hanzlik was a district councilor in Ottakring between 1946 and 1950 and from 1950 onwards she held the position of deputy district party chairwoman. She was a member of the Federal Party Executive Committee and a member of the Women's Central Committee and from July 13, 1956 to June 22, 1959, she held the function of a Federal Councilor. From 1959 to 1962 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and City Council . She then worked from December 14, 1962 to March 30, 1966 as a member of the National Council and was again a member of the Federal Council from April 22, 1966 to November 23, 1973, from January 1, 1973 to June 30, 1973 Held the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Federal Council. Between 1970 and 2005, Hanzlik was honorary chairwoman of the SPÖ Ottakring.

Her grave is in the Hernals cemetery .

In a detailed speech, which they quote "Man is the measure of all things" prefaced she pleaded for a clear product declaration of industrially produced food, concrete frozen fruits and meat dish preserves, as according to a claim by the Association for Consumer Information an expiry date in clear text and content quality including the content of meat and fat in canned foods.
