Helmholtzkiez
The Helmholtzkiez is a residential area in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg ( Pankow district ). As planning area 32 and district region 13 of the Pankow district, it is defined by the public administration under the name Helmholtzplatz and referred to by the residents as a Kiez . The quarter is 84 hectares and had 20,791 inhabitants in 2007; thus the Kiez had a population density of 24,751 inhabitants per square kilometer.
location
As Helmholtzkiez the area between the will train - route of the ring road in the north, the Prenzlauer Allee in the east, the Danziger road in the south and the Schönhauser Allee referred to in the West. Helmholtzplatz , after which the quarter is named, is located in the center of the Kiez .
Colloquially, the part of the residential area between Danziger Straße, Stargarder Street, Poplar Avenue and Senefelderstraße is also LSD district , named after the initials of the three approximately north-south direction on the Helmholtz square streets running L ychener-, S chliemann- and D unckerstraße.
