Helmut Becker (geologist)

Helmut Becker (born December 5, 1900 in Stühe, Westphalia, † August 10, 1983 in Salzburg ) was a German geologist .

Becker was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD at the University of Vienna . His research has been repeatedly funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences . He worked as a mining and oil geologist, lived in Salzburg and worked primarily in Austria. He found fossils in the flysch and published the findings together with Gustav Götzinger . Together with Gustav Götzinger, he was the first to describe Subphyllochorda and Palaeobullia .
