history
The publishing house was founded on May 11, 1959 as Helmut Buske Wissenschaftliche Buchhandlung Antiquariat Verlag in Tübingen and moved to Hamburg in 1962. It has been a subsidiary of Felix Meiner Verlag since January 1st, 1992 . Around 500 titles are currently available in more than 60 languages.
Helmut Buske Verlag is a member of the German Book Trade Association .
Publishing program
The focus of the publisher's work is on textbooks, workbooks and dictionaries on foreign languages and scripts from Albanian to Welsh, designed for German native speakers . The textbooks usually include audio CDs and an exercise key.
In addition, the publishing program consists of study books, reading volumes, a language calendar (on Polish ) that was first published in 2012 , magazines, series and monographs on the subjects of general and comparative linguistics, Creole studies , phonetics , oriental studies , Egyptology , Finno-Ugric studies , Altaic studies , and Indo-European studies , Indology , Romance Studies , Slavic Studies , German Studies and Yiddish Studies .
