Helmut Hoermann
Helmut Heinz Hoermann (born July 18, 1941 in Sulingen ) is a German-American hotel manager .
Life
After completing secondary school in Sulingen, Hoermann graduated from the hotel management school in Bremen in 1960 as the best of his year , attended the Hotel Management School in Heidelberg , continued his training at the Alliance française in Paris before he started at the Hilton Hotels and worked continuously from General Manager in New York City (1971–1978) rose to CEO of the entire Hilton Group (1987–1988). In between he had successfully completed his MBA at the Hotel Industry Career Development Institute in Montreal . He became President of the Westin Hotels & Resorts Group from 1988–1989 , before becoming President and CEO of the InterContinental Hotels Group from 1989–06 .
