Helmut Jung (born June 29, 1951 in Laubuseschbach , now a district of Weilmünster ) is a German architect , building contractor and local politician ( SPD ).

Jung was elected by the district council of the Limburg-Weilburg district in its meeting on February 9, 2007 as the first district member of the Limburg-Weilburg district and sworn in on March 16, 2007. The independent architect and building contractor succeeded Manfred Michel, who now holds the office of district administrator. Jung has been a member of the SPD for many years and was a member of the Hessian state parliament from February 7, 1994, when he replaced his former party friend Matthias Kurth on the state list, until the end of the 1995 legislative period . He ran in all three elections in the 1990s in the Limburg-Weilburg II constituency , but was inferior to the CDU candidate Karlheinz Weimar .

In 2012, Jung was nominated as a candidate by the SPD for the office of district administrator . Jung achieved 25.1% in the first ballot in which incumbent Manfred Michel was re-elected.

Until his retirement in March 2019, Helmut Jung was the first district member of the Limburg-Weilburg district. His successor has been Jörg Sauer since March 16, 2019.

Helmut Jung is married and has four grown children.
