Helmut Meyer from Bremen
Helmut Meyer von Bremen (born April 18, 1902 in London ; † April 9, 1941 ) was a German composer .
Life
Meyer von Bremen comes from a family of artists . His grandfather was the painter Johann Georg Meyer , called Meyer von Bremen. In 1905 his family moved to Leipzig . He attended the Thomas School in Leipzig until 1921 and then studied with Anatol von Roessel , Stephan Krehl , Max von Pauer and Robert Teichmüller at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Leipzig . From 1923 he worked at the Landestheater Coburg . He died of a stroke.
His son was the pianist Alexander Meyer von Bremen .
