Helmut Petrik (born May 16, 1961 in Villach ) is a former Austrian ice hockey striker who spent his entire career at EC VSV in the Austrian ice hockey league and also played in the Austrian national team .

Career

Helmut Petrik played for the EC VSV in the Bundesliga from 1977 to 1994 and was three times Austrian champion and four times runner-up with the Villach team. In the Austrian league he came to 622 games with 195 goals and around 300 assists. He ranks 6th in the eternal VSV scorers list. He was also a member of the national team with which he took part in five B World Championships and the 1984 Olympic Games.

After his active career, he became a trainer in the VSV youth division. His sons Nikolas and Benjamin are also ice hockey players.
