Helmut Stegmann (State Secretary)

Helmut Stegmann (born May 9, 1950 ) is a German political official ( SPD ). From 2009 to 2011 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After studying economics , he graduated in 1976 with a degree in economics from the Philipps University of Marburg-Lahn . From September 1976 to July 1981, Stegmann was a research assistant in the finance department of the Philipps University with Horst Zimmermann. He then worked from August 1981 to March 1991 at the Federal Ministry of Finance . In 1983 he received his doctorate. rer. pole.

From March 1991 to September 1998, Stegmann was head of the “Economy and Finance” department at the federal state's representative of Brandenburg . After that, until February 2003, he became head of the department for property and economic policy matters in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. From March 2003 to October 2008, Stegmann was head of the central department there, then again head of the department for property and economic policy matters until February 2009.

Stegmann is married and has two children.

State Secretary

After the state elections in 2006 , a black-red coalition was formed in Saxony-Anhalt ( Böhmer II cabinet ). With Christian Sundermann's resignation on February 25, 2009, Stegmann became State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance led by Jens Bullerjahn (SPD). After the state elections in 2011 and the formation of the Haseloff government , Stegmann was put into temporary retirement.
