The representation of the state of Brandenburg at the federal government has its seat in the ministerial gardens in the Berlin district Mitte of the district of the same name .

The Agents of the State of Brandenburg and Federal Commissioner for International Relations is state secretary Jutta Jahns-Böhm . Organizationally, the state representative is part of the Brandenburg State Chancellery and is managed there as an independent department.

The most important task of the state representation is to participate in the legislative activities of the federal government , in which state interests are affected and the participation of the Federal Council is necessary. Brandenburg shares the building of the representation with the representation of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the federal level . It is in close proximity to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe .
The state representative office was built between 1999 and 2001, the design comes from the Hamburg architects gmp ( Gerkan, Marg and Partner ). Two three or four-storey wings with an L-shaped floor plan face each other, connected by a central hall with the common event hall. The building was initially clad with a slate facade. After the slates loosened from their anchoring and fell down, the facade was replaced by granite slabs from 2011 to 2013.
