building
The building at Brüderstraße 11/12 was built in 1905 as an office for the Berlin Fire Insurance Company by the architects Reimer and Körte. The GDR State Insurance Company was housed here until 1989 . After German reunification , the Free State of Saxony acquired the property from the federal government. The renovation and conversion work for 11.25 million euros began in August 1998, and on March 15, 2000, Saxony opened its representative office. The house is a listed building . The front is clad with neo-baroque sandstone decor, which has echoes of Art Nouveau . The inner courtyard is covered; As in the representation in Bonn, there is a "Sachsenkeller".
The Nicolaihaus is to the left of the state representation , and the Galgenhaus to the right .
