The Brandenburg-Saxon relations date back to the Middle Ages. In 1711 permanent diplomatic relations followed.

Saxon Legation at Vossstrasse 19 in Berlin (1932)

The Saxon Legation was renamed to represent the Reich during the Weimar Republic , but was dissolved in 1932 but continued for two years, and in 1934 it was forcibly dissolved. In 2000 it was re-established to represent the Free State of Saxony at the federal level .
